SkyWatch Friday.

This was taken a couple of weeks ago here on Cyprus -  on Green Monday on Cavo Greco.  It's the first day in the Fast, and a day off for the whole family.  They go for picnic in the nature, and kites are a popular activity for both young and elder.  This day of the year its really crowded on Cavo Greco.

The next is also from Cavo Greco, with the monument on the top, some days later just before sunset.

Next:  Sunset over the Mediterranian, seen from Cavo Greco.

Happy SkyWatch everyone!

SkyWatch Friday.

Here are a couple of pictures from Cyprus where we are enjoying a long time stay for 3 months at present. (From 5th of January).   The first one is taken on our bicycle trip today in the area near between Paralimni and Protaras.

The second taken a couple of days ago - also on a bicycle trip as the sun disappeared behind the hills.

Took these pictures on my way to the mailbox in about 10 degrees minus today. Good to think about our journey to Cyprus in about one week!

Flere begivenheter i desember. More events in December.

On the 6th of December our fifth grandchild, Zoë, was baptised by her father in Larvik Mission Church. Her mother carried her to the baptisme, and grandmother, grandfather, aunt and uncle were godparents.

Last friday I went to my daughters home in Vestfold, equipped with ginger snap dough, icing suger and a lot of sweets to make ginger snaps with three of my grandchildren. It became a nice evening with baking, garnishing and a little singing while we did the job.

Ginger snap baking song.

"The Lord is God. Up in heaven and down on the earth. The Lord is God. He and no one else."

Even, 3 år viser stolt frem sitt produkt til pappa. Even, three years old, shows proudly his product to his daddy.

Sindre, 7 år, er også fornøyd med verket. Sindre, 7 years, is also pleased with his work.

Mina, 5 years, is showing her best one.

Vi var kjempefornøyde med resultatet.

We were very satisfied with the result.

The moon pictures is from last night.
(I had a little trouble with the tecnique to get them in right order - the two last is in right order to each other.)

SkyWatch Friday.

Here is my contribution for this week's skywatch.  Both of them taken from my veranda.   The first one yesterday, the second today - as the sun is disappearing behind the hills a little past 3 o'clock p.m.
The big clouds on the first picture is NOT smoke from the factory!!  (Just a little down to the left.)
Happy Skywatch everyone!

SkyWatch Friday.

Last Saturday we had a necessary errand in Drøbak, a small town in our neighbourhood. There was a beautiful fall day, and we took a walk along the seaside in the city. You see the Oslofjorden against the North, the seaway towards Oslo.

This was taken to-day's afternoon, just as the sun had disappeared behind the hill to the right. The now famous view from our veranda.

A little earlier this afternoon I noticed a helicopter sounding nearby, and found this one standing absolute calm in the air. Someone hanging in a line and obviously doing a work on the pylon beneath. Fascinating!

Happy Skywatch everyone!

SkyWatch Friday.

This week we have followed the Fiest of Tabernacle in Jerusalem by television. My mother-in-law is there with a Norwegian group right now. It is her first time in Israel, and she is so exited. This picture, taken from within The Citadel in Jerusalem, we took on our last visit there early in 2008. Now we are longing to go back there as soon as we can.

This is the beautiful full moon we could enjoy last Saturday: taken not far from our house.

SkyWatch Friday

Last Saturday we went to Frognerseteren together with our eldest daughter who at the present is patient on Rikshospitalet (The main hospital in Norway) for a medical examination of her disase (Bechets syndrome). It was a very beautiful day, making good for all of us.

The profile of the restaurant against the sky.

This is the view from our sitting place outside the restaurant, looking over Oslo city and fjord.

And on our way down from the hill we could watch the construction of the new Holmenkollen arena for skijumping.
